Trending: That 70’s Flare

Our Free Spirit Collection has hits stores this month, combining seventies styles with bohemian silhouettes. In true Jeanswest style, denim of course, we’re introducing the limited edition Farrah High Waisted Slim Flare and Stevie Wide Leg jeans.

Afterall, what’s a 70’s inspired collection without a pair of bell-bottoms?

Replicating the denim of the era, the Farrah High Waisted Slim Flare features patch front pockets in a flattering dark indigo. With a wide hem, Farrah will balance out your thighs and emphasise your curves.

If you’re not ready for the flare, the Stevie Wide Leg is a great alternative. Welt pockets with front creases ensure authenticity and rock that vibrant seventies mid- blue denim. Stevie slims down your thighs with the loose leg fit for a more casual look.

The best part of these revived seventies styles is their ability to compliment most figures: slim, straight or curvy. An 85cm inseam means they’re long in length and a great excuse to add a few inches. Effortlessly styled denim and stilettos are fail-safe.23_65566

Slipping on a pair of flares can be daunting, so we’ve got some styling tips straight from the expert. Our Denim Product Manager Adrienne gives us the inside word on how to incorporate seventies denim with contemporary pieces.

Adrienne, Product Manager Denim

“My favourite looks for these styles are teaming the Farrah Flare back with a soft, button up collared shirt and a pair of wedges. The Stevie looks great with a white T-shirt tucked in and a black leather jacket for a cool but casual look.”

To channel this season’s hottest trend, style the Farrah and Stevie jeans with our Free Spirit collection out now.

Need, need, need low and mid waist versions of these flares. I am short anyway so a high waist comes up to my armpits. Plus, a high waist is just plain uncomfortable. Been waiting for the flare to come back. Best style ever, and so flattering! Won’t be wearing this high waist version though. Same with pedal pushers and crops, too long in the leg for short people; the pedal pusher ends up being a crop, the crop ends up at 7/8 length and the 7/8 length is almost full length and I will not buy jeans online as the mess around and cost to return them is ridiculous. The stores don’t have enough variety of styles and lengths and sizes. Only seem to cater for the young ones. I’m 50 and I want to look good too!
