Snapshot: Capturing our unique australian lifestyle

The Jeanswest Summer Snapshot Series Competition is back!

This year our Snapshot Series competition continues on the Australian beach lifestyle, we can’t wait to see the entries come through of iconic summer moments, captured. There will be 6 lucky winners who will share in over $4,500 worth of prizes as well as having their photographs printed onto one of our men’s tees. To be in the running all you have to do is upload your own snapshot of a picturesque Australian summer moment, think iconic beaches!

Snapshot-Question-01

Tell us, what’s the name of your favourite Australian beach?
That’s a really hard one to answer… locally it would have to be Ocean Grove Beach – it’s great for my boys to have a paddle or try at surfing, and it’s safe.

The sand is great and there are some good grass areas you can walk along at Barwon River… plus, we have friends close by, so that makes it very convenient.

I also have to give a special mention to Port Fairy Beach – it’s great if you’re after somewhere that’s not too crowded.

Interstate, I can’t go past Clarkes Beach in Byron… again a great little wave for my boys that just keeps going and is easy to ride. There are also beautiful trees lining the beach and some good walking trails.

Which entries have stood out to you in previous competitions and why?
Last year’s entries saw a great mix of summer at the beach and some unique, quirky imagery. The ones that stand out to me, include the silhouette of a dog on the shoreline which resonated with our customers and a rogue seagull diving at a beach pool. There was also a great mix of surf culture and people being active in the water.

Talk us through the process of choosing the winning snapshots…
We go through all entries looking for shots that are striking, tell a story and evoke the feeling of summer – images that tell the story, do it in a unique and thoughtful way. Obviously, we need shots that are strong in composition and high resolution, too. A little quirkiness and humour can also add to a great shot, or going the other way – a shot that creates a mood and feeling can be really strong and a great single statement.

Snapshot-Question-03

Do you have any advice for entrants?
Think outside the box. Don’t limit yourself to one image or idea… Many of our previous winners have won based on multiple entries that worked together as one strong concept. Make sure the images are at a high resolution where possible. And, above all… have fun!!

The Snapshot Series competition runs until 13th July 2018, so get creative and start snapping! For more information on how to enter, head to www.snapshotseries.com.au.

Can I suggest you put the large pictures on the back and just a small logo on the front. The number of my friends and their husbands that say they won’t wear the large designs on the front … just a thought.

      Hi Angelina,
We’ve drawn the lucky winner and advised them so unfortunately, you haven’t won this time, thanks so much for getting involved.
We’ll be publishing all winners on the Snapshot Series website shortly so stay tuned.

Just out of curiosity the voters prize winners go to the people with the most votes ? Is that how it works?

          Hi Vanessa,
The Voters Prize, is a game of chance. Whereby anyone who cast a vote on an entry automatically went into the draw to win.
